Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your router let you adjust the bandwidth for individual applications and devices on your home network. For the most part, however, under the QoS menu, you will need to enable an Internet Priority setting of some sort. This setting is where you assign connection priority to a specific device. Typically, you assign "medium priority" to devices so that even when it requires a lot of bandwidth, it doesn't drain the bandwidth of other connected network devices.
